Ray Jr – “Twenty 1 Six”

Legit Paper artist and Cleveland, Ohio’s native son, Ray Jr, ended last year on a strong note by delivering the official visual for his street anthem “Same Crew” (currently playing on MTV 2). Returning for the first time this year, Ray reaches back into the Legit Paper mixtape to provide an accompanying video for the intro to the 18-track project. On “Twenty 1 Six” the Cleveland rhymer looks inward as he gets introspective about his city, depicting tales of crime and violence, comrades he’s lost to the system, friends he’s lost to murder, as well as other personal struggles.

With 2015 already in full motion, you can expect a new project from Ray Jr in the near future entitled Gold Packs, so stay tuned!

Here’s the new album from Big Dutty Deeze, a man who in the last few years has shared stages with the likes of Rodney P, Caxton Press, Mystro, Blak Twang, Braydz and many more. His deep vocal tone has become such a part of UK Rap, with his intelligent wordplay and intricate rhyme patterns. Big up to all involved, because this is a Hip-Hop album you need in your life.

DJ Diamond Presents Multiple Skillz “10-13” (Review) @DJDiamondgl1 @MultipleSkillz @ParkStreetPR

DJ DIAMOND presents MULTIPLE SKILLZ 10_13 (megamix)

Hot on the heels of the Multiple Skillz & Reaper On Beatz release ‘The Phoenix EP’, the London rapper is back with a release that is perfect for people who have only just got up on him. He’s been about and has been doing his thing, but the last few months have seen a change in pace. I am told by a good source that 2014 is going to be a big year for him with plenty of new releases, videos and shows lined up. Its ‘go hard or go yard season’ and Multiple Skillz is defiantly not going yard!!! I love his vocal sound, so big he fills the speakers when he rhymes and controls the microphone with ease. Throughout the mixtape you get a good idea of what he is about as well as seeing that Multiple Skillz can murder any style of beat or tempo or emotion. He really is such a well rounded artist with a hard work ethic that has to be admired and saluted.

Ensite “I Wanna Be Free” #Review @Ensite123 @ParkStreetPR

DSC06703

Ensite are a North London act that represent reality through their music, a soulful patchwork of funky grooves, hip-hop, r’n’b, jazz, funk and sleek grooves. This string and percussion track gently resonates with the listener with the vocals of lead singer Nina carrying the song well.

Nina’s voice has a slight gospel tone but with lashings of soul, and the way the vocal is delivered and sung with passion is really adorable to the ear. I liked how I couldn’t pigeon hole this release into a genre as such just apart from thinking this is forward thinking rhythm and blues.

Be on the lookout for more music from Ensite coming real soon. Quality stuff…

The Godfathers (Kool G Rap & Necro) ‘Once Upon A Crime’ #AlbumReview @Necro_is_God @TheRealKoolGRap @ParkStreetPR

NECRO & KOOL G RAP 500

For people loving their rap music in the1990’s, both Necro & Kool G Rap will be names you know. Both rappers are artist’s that have stuck to their underground roots, both becoming legendary names. I do feel on the whole that not enough attention is paid to their talents, with Kool G Rap carving the scene for Biggie, Nas, Jay-Z and many others to follow, and Necro choosing the independent route and creating a blue print that has been followed by artists such as Tyler, The Creator and Hopsin. Necro put Horrorcore on the map when they were in school!

With little real mainstream commercial recognition, Necro has created a worldwide fanbase by grinding and always keeping up a real quality with his label. Though some his lyrical content is quite disturbing (part of the appeal for most) Necro is an emcee that go in alongside any emcee and hold his own. As a producer he has also made noise, creating beats for himself and his brother Ill Bill as well Non-Phixion, Cage, Wu Tang’s Raekwon and more.

G Rap & Necro get ready to drop the album on November 19th, and trust us when we say it’s an excellent blend of angry, bitter verses with melodic choruses showcasing real depth, confidence and experience. It’s such a well crafted body of work and its attention to detail is what makes it for me. From the excellent artwork, to the concepts and beats, the whole album is creatively adventurous with a unique quality.

Top tracks for us included Gangsta, Omerta. Heart Attack, The City, High Tension but make your own mind up when it drops on Nov 19th.

MarcSummers – TheAlphaTape #Review

Marc Summers is an artist based out of Phoenix, Arizona. His first venture into music was as a producer at the age of 15. It wasn’t till he was 18 that he wrote his first verse and from there on, he’s been writing non stop ever since. He joined a local band of talented artists known as First Flight and released “We R Future” in 2007. He then decided that he wanted to release a solo mixtape. He fell upon the title “TheAlphaTape” because this is his own personal beginning into music. Marc Summers’ goal is to share the idea of being yourself with the world through sharp lyricism, witty punchlines, and a constant vulnerability that is unique it’s own way.

P.Seize – A Series Of Unnoticed Events #Review

The globe trotter P.Seize releases the video “A Series Of Unnoticed Events” in support of his upcoming LP “A Series Of Unnoticed Events”, which promises to be a roller coaster ride of emotions that you are sure to identify with. The LP is scheduled to be released 12/4/13.

The title track, produced by Beats At Will artist/ producer ASTRAY, is a wonderfully put together introduction to the album, placed as number 1 of 17 tracks.

P.SEIZE Learned about music at a very young age. In 1987 P.SEIZE began his first trip to COLORADO from NEW-YORK that would create a world of family and friends placed apart from himself. Always singing and dancing and wanting to be filmed P.SEIZE always wanted to be the main event. influenced by West Coast rappers such as TUPAC, SNOOP DOGG . DR. DRE, KRUPT, WARREN G and others, P.SEIZE fell in love with HIP-HOP music!

After a few years and countless trips back and forth between NEW-YORK and COLORADO , P.SEIZE started listing to such artists as BONE THUGS & HARMONY, NAS , JAY-Z, MOBB DEEP, NOTORIOUS B.I.G, AZ, and many more. His passion for the music grew. While in school P.SEIZE was always involved in chorus class. Given solos in elementary school, and the position of a tenner in the DEXTER MIDDLE SCHOOL & HIGH SCHOOL CHOIR. By this time P.SEIZE found himself in MICHIGAN. “1997” With the love of music always by his side P.SEIZE started writing poems and tried to turn them into songs to sing. After awhile he discovered that the songs he was trying to sing would be more heartfelt and easier to belt out if the lyrics were placed in a rap format, and he was correct.

Ever since the cold winter day in 1999 P.SEIZE has never stopped exceeding and striving for his dream and long time passion of being an entertainer, artist, RAPPER. With 12 schools being the number of schools attended and only 11 grades completed, uncountable miles back and forth across the country, a car accident on december 4th 2001 located in MICHIGAN which P.SEIZE broke his neck and back in four places each, had a traumatic brain injury, and was in a coma for 28 days waking up on Christmas. P.SEIZE. has proven he is not going anywhere. Doing shows all over MICHIGAN, DETROIT, COLORADO, and his home state NEW-YORK and other states since 2007, P.SEIZE is no rookie to his trade with the album releases of “THE POWER OF INTENTION” in 2007, and “HISTORY OF THE FUTURE” in 2009.

His mixtape releases of “ACT 2” in 2009, and his most recent release “ACT 3” the mixtape in 2011. P.SEIZE has been planning on unveiling a close to heart piece of work he has been in the studio with since 2009. The name of this album/LP is “A SERIES OF UNNOTICED EVENTS”. This record was originally planned to be released January 2011 but because of life, things have changed. The new release date is DECEMBER 4TH 2013. 12 years to date after the car accident which left him 1/4 centimeters away from death, learning to walk, talk, eat, sleep, shit by him self again and countless doctors telling him he would not be able to make music again.

Unseen ‘Tell Me I’m Wrong’ (Hosted by Tricksta) @FollowUnseen @TrickstaUK @ParkStreetPR @UKRunnings

FRONT

The longest running UK Hip-Hop mixtape series in Great Britain UK Runnings is back with yet another dope release this time from Unseen, a Wolverhampton rapper who looks like he is set for big things. After seeing the video for ‘Ride 4 Me’ around a month ago I have been intrigued to hear his first mixtape. ‘Tell Me I’m Wrong’ is a solid mixtape release with some great songs, in fact there’s nothing on here I don’t like. I love the track over Souls Of Mischief’s ’93 Till Infinity’ which features Big Dutty Deeze and the collaboration ‘Hood 2 Hood’ featuring Supar Novar is infectious and features a killer beat from Tricksta, who also hosts the mixtape mixtape nice in true UK Runnings style. This Wolves MC has a special something; I hope he keeps up these levels. Bubblegum free this is raw street music and is something you need in your collection. You can feel the hunger coming thru his speakers.

River Nelson ‘The Shape of The Sky’ (Produced by Lewis Parker) @Rivnel @LewisParker_ @DowntownSoul @ParkStreetPR

River Nelson Shape of The Sky (front 500)

2013 just got interesting (at last), I don’t weather its just me, but the amount of music we are getting sent in that is terrible is doing my head in! (LOL). We try and appreciate the better stuff from the UK and the realer music from USA, this is finding hard amongst the mainstream plap such as Tinie Tempah and Waka Flocka whoever whatever they are called. There’s so much terrible Hip-Hop around at the moment, sometimes I feel closing my blog!

Real music is hard to find but here comes this album from River Nelson, an act that being totally honest, I don’t know much about from the fact that he dropped a quality album with Lewis Parker a couple of years ago. ‘The Shape of The Sky’, is its follow-up and what thirteen track corker it is too. ‘Rising Morning Fire’, ‘300 Seconds’ and ‘Thinkin’ Of Leaving’ Feat. John Robinson all impressed me so much.

As long as River Nelson is making music Hip-Hop is safe, maybe next time don’t keep us waiting so long.

Texas Bam ‘TwerkAholic’ – Single Review @JonesOMalley @TexasBam @ParkStreetPR

Twerk(COVER) 500 x 500

Street-oriented rappers like Wacka Flocka and Young Jeezy are running the sound at the moment in the USA. The Southern sound is basically the new pop with a lot of tracks that replicate ‘that’ formula, lacing pitched-up or down vocals, looping a vocal sample for a hook, all observation rules I have seen in many tracks. This is of that style but it’s just sincere with it. We look for too many things sometimes in music, only the open-minded can see things for what they really are. This is about synths and pummelling drums, this is about getting up and shaking what ya mother gave ya. It is what it is, but what we have here is something of a track that could really go mainstream with the right support.
