JR SWIFT Soul & Party Beat Tape

JR SWIFT is a young producer hailing from Charlotte, North Carolina via Virginia Beach, Virginia. Music is his life considering his father Jay Swift has worked with many underground Hip Hop acts including Kool G Rap, Papoose, Canibus, and Awon to name a few. JR provides a soulful throwback to a more playful era in music finding inspiration in Neo Soul Music, Jazz, and R&B. Most notably he channels the late J Dilla, Madlib, Q-Tip, and Flying Lotus to create this remarkable instrumental Soul & Party Beat Tape. It is the type of listen you can throw on and not skip one track because everything has such a cohesive groove.

DJ Yoda featuring A Boy Called George – Happy – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W8zhR7sJbj4

The headline gig lands amidst a run of UK tour dates

Summary:

DJ Yoda plays his only London Audio Visual show that side of Summer at Kentish Town’s Forum. Mixing and projecting live on a cinema sized screen, DJ Yoda’s legendary tongue in cheek party sets will once again rock North London with his crafty beatfuckery and ingenious good humour. With some excellent support on the night from fellow master AV mixologists get ready to be shaken, not stirred.

Info:

DJ Yoda has a knack for turning rooms full of perfectly calm and civilised people into a heaving mass of happy, sweaty, partied-out folk. Combining a well-honed beat-heavy DJ set with tongue in cheek visuals mixed live with the music on a cinema-sized screen, DJ Yoda assaults your senses with a killer combination of good humour and infectious party music. Unbeatable in this terrain, DJ Yoda truly is one of the “ten DJs to see before you die” (Q Magazine).
ATLANTIKS have been touring their new show this year supporting the likes of Roots Manuva, Wax Tailor, The Correspondents, DJ Food, Hexstatic etc… With a ton of remixes, mad radio love from L.A’s very own KCRW and an all new AV set under their belt, they’ve been wowing crowds all over Europe. Make sure you check out their “Nicolas Cage Doesn’t Like Sebastian” video (below) for a glimpse of what to expect.
Expect surprise guests – last time round he had a breakdancing magician, a hip hop comedy improv duo and a full-on Balkan brass band making appearances – and the quality of supports you’ve come to expect from a Soundcrash show.
This will be an extraordinary night brought to you by an extraordinary DJ. Don’t miss out.
